If you arrive at your destination during evening/night time, following tips will help you recover faster:
- Adjust your watch to local time
- Avoid Caffeine at all cost
- Hit the Gym in the evening or before your dinner time
- Eat a healthy dinner and NO caffeine/Alcohol
- Avoid looking at your digital assets at least one hour before going to bed
Even after doing all above, if you get only few hours of sleep and you are wide awake at the middle of night or early morning at around 3AM, you need to do following:
- Do not turn on lights in your room – This is the worst thing one can do and it only adds fuel to worsen your Jet Lag
- Do not turn on your digital assets (phone, tab, laptop etc)
- Keep lying in the bed, even if you are wide awake
- Soft music usually helps keeping mind at peace and usually aids in sleeping. I personally like instrumental from Kenny G 🙂
- Get up from bed only when it is right time locally – come what may
These are some of the tricks that I use in addition to being disciplined before, during and after my flight and I never had Jet Lag, Yes NEVER!
