Kashmir Floods – Don’t Just Discuss, DO your Part, DO IT!
The floods in Jammu & Kashmir has caused massive destruction with over 200 people dead, thousands stranded without food, electricity, toilet facility and water and thousands evacuated by our brave army. The situation has already been declared as a National Disaster.
Social Media has already played an important role with people discussing about the situation, giving ideas, sharing details of organizations that are coordinating on the relief operations, but there is a need to do more. This is the time, when we should discuss less and Do More. Time to DO IT!
Here is the list of things that you can do on your part to help our fellow countrymen in this hour of need:
Money Donation: The best way is to donate to Prime Minister National Relief Fund (PMNRF) Money donated here not only will reach the needy directly through PM office, but will also give the donor some tax benefit.
Donate Medicines: This is the list of some common medicines available over the counter; you can buy from your nearby Pharmacy Store and donate it. Please make sure to check the expiry of the medicine:

Donate Clothes: You can help donate clothes, please try not to donate your old/torn clothes, it would be good if you can buy new clothes (no brand, just new) and buy for Adults, Kids, Male, Female including undergarments and woolens. You can also donate footwear’s – Sleepers, Shoes, Sandals for Adults and Kids.
Donate Food: You can also help donate dry ration and something that is ready to eat. Enough of #icebucketchallenge, this is a real challenge for people to donate generously.
Donate household items: There is an immediate need of household items like Umbrella, Tents, Blankets, water purifier tablets, Candles, Ropes and Utensils among others. I’m hopeful you will get majority of these stuff out from your home to help the needy.

There are various other organizations, details of which you will find in newspapers, news or from local police stations.
This is the time to show we care; time to give back to society, after all humanity has no color, race or religion. Don’t just discuss, DO IT!
